Gutted!

For the first time in what seems like ages, I am very happy doing what I do for a living. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I really enjoying being a Notes & Domino Admin, now that I am back doing freelance/contract work again. Having the freedom to chose your next opportunity is pretty cool, assuming that there are opportunities to chose from.

However, with this freedom there often comes a price. Mine, it seems, is losing out on what is possibly the biggest, best & cheapest learning opportunity that I'll have presented to me this year -- ILUG2007 .

Suffice to say that due to the nature of my current engagement, (a short contract, to provide "backfill" Notes & Domino Admin support, allowing my colleagues to complete some much needed project work), I won't be able to get the time off to attend ILUG2007 . Worse still, is that the Scottish Notes User Group (SNUG) meets next week in Edinburgh (Where I am now working), and I can't make that either! To say that I am gutted is an understatement. Missing out on ILUG2007 is bad enough, but missing the SNUG too ..!

... ILUG2007 has a new home!

The organisers ( Paul , Bill , Duffbert , Eileen , Theresa and Warren ) have outdone themselves for this year's event, and have put together an outrageously impressive list of guest speakers:-

Alan Lepofsky, Mary Beth Raven, Kathleen McGivney, Rocky Oliver, Bruce Elgort, Vince Shuurman, Julian Robichaux, John D. Head, Chris Miller, Rob McDonagh, Tom Duff, Sean Burgess, Deb Latter, Carl Tyler, Chris Byrne, Chris Blatnick, Warren Elsmore, Bill Buchan & Paul Mooney. (I think the only person missing from this list is the Turtle himself!)

There are lots of great reasons to attend this gig, but the best one of all -- it that it is FREE!

The ILUG2007 site has the full run down of events over the 2 days, plus lots of good information about hotels local to the location of the event, and details of how to get there. Both Paul and Bill are very tight lipped at the moment, but a big surprise is due to be announced within the next few days relating to ILUG2007 . Watch this space for more detail, once the surprise has been unveiled.

ILUG 2007 - Speaker list

If you really needed an excuse to get yourself to attend ILUG 2007, then look no further.

Paul has posted a list of potential & confirmed speakers for this years event here. Whilst the speaker line up is by no means complete yet, it's formed from a very impressive list of who's who within the Notes & Domino community.

I think we are in for one helluva great ILUG event this year.

Irish Lotus User Group 2007

Keep your diaries free for 24th and 25th of May 2007, as this is when the next meeting of the Irish Lotus User Group (ILUG) will occur in Dublin. Paul Mooney & Eileen Fitzgerald did a stonkingly brilliant job of organising and running last year's event, and I've absolutely no doubt that they'll do an equally fantastic job of it again this year!
